Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 31, 2026

The Spin Cart is a family run cotton candy cart serving Sarasota to Englewood. We keep things simple: we collect what we need and no more, we don't sell it and we tell you plainly how it's used. This page covers thespincart.com and how we handle information when you join our drop list or contact us.

What we collect and why

Drop list. When you join our drop list on thespincart.com, we collect your name and your email. If you choose, we also collect your town. We use them to email you about The Spin Cart, such as when tubs are ready. We don't use them for anything else. We don't send your sign up to Google or Meta for ads.

Where your sign up goes. Our website host, Squarespace, runs the sign up form and stores your entry. Google Workspace runs our hello@thespincart.com inbox, where each sign up arrives.

Spam protection. Our sign up form uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep out spam and bots. reCAPTCHA collects information about your device and how you use the form. Google processes it under the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms).

Event requests. Event packages are on pause, so our site doesn't take event requests right now. If you sent us a request before, we keep it as described in How long we keep it.

When you email, call or message us. We get what you send, such as your email address, phone number and the details you share. We use it to answer you.

Event photos. Your booking agreement lets you choose whether we may share photos and video from your event. We never feature a recognizable child unless a parent or guardian has signed our photo release. We never post a child's name, school or location. We turn off location tags on our posts. You can change your mind anytime by emailing us. We'll remove photos we control within 7 days.

Giveaways. If you enter a giveaway by email, we use your name, town and contact details to run that giveaway and deliver the prize. We don't use them for anything else. Entering doesn't add you to our drop list or any marketing list.

Cookies and analytics

Our site host, Squarespace, uses essential cookies that keep the site working, plus its built in analytics. That helps us see things like which pages are visited, the type of device and browser and the general area a visit comes from. We don't use any advertising cookies or ad tracking tools on our site today. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we'll update this policy before we add them.

Your choices

  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. The site may not work as well without essential cookies.

  • Unsubscribe from our drop list anytime with the link in any list email or by emailing hello@thespincart.com.

  • Ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@thespincart.com. We may need to keep some records the law requires, such as tax and payment records.

Emails and texts

We send drop list emails to people who join our list on thespincart.com. After an event we may email past customers about rebooking or reviews. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. To unsubscribe, use the link or email hello@thespincart.com. We stop list emails to you within 10 business days of your request.

If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your own request or booking. We don't send marketing texts. We never sell or share your number for anyone else's marketing. Reply STOP to any text from us and we'll stop.

We don't sell your personal information

We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Who we share with

We share information with the service providers that help us run The Spin Cart and no one else, apart from the rare cases at the end of this section. They are our website host (Squarespace), our email provider (Google Workspace) and Google reCAPTCHA for spam protection. We may also share information if the law requires it or to protect our rights or safety. If another company ever takes over our business, it would have to treat your information the same way.

How long we keep it

  • Drop list sign ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. We then delete them within 30 days.

  • Requests that don't turn into a booking: up to 2 years.

  • Bookings, agreements and payment records: 5 years after your event, for tax and business records.

  • Signed photo releases: as long as we use the photos plus 3 years.

  • Giveaway entries: at least 90 days after the giveaway ends. Winner records as long as tax law requires.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or destroy it securely.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, such as keeping it in a small number of accounts and limiting access to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong that affected your information, we would tell you as the law requires.

Children

Our site is for adults. The drop list is for adults 18 and older. Our site isn't directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child signed up or sent us information, email hello@thespincart.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we'll put a note on our site.
